Singer Lily Allen has revealed that her goal in life is to settle down to family living in the countryside. The Lily Allen songs are still popular in the UK charts at the moment.

The 24-year-old singer has bought a five-bedroom house in the Cotswolds and intends to move in when she returns from her world tour, The People reports.

Allen, who is “blissfully happy” with her boyfriend of seven months, builder Sam Cooper, said: “I just want to have babies and live in the countryside, that’s my goal really.

“I’m not a careerist, what I really want is to be a mum. I am driven, but that drive goes as far as keeping a roof over my head and having a routine. I have been in a relationship for six or seven months now and its going really well, so why not?”

Allen suffered a miscarriage two years ago and said that the tragedy ‘hit her like a house collapsing’. She has now managed to move on with her life following months of therapy.

Lily Allen will start the New Year (10) in a new home after reaching a deal to buy a $2.08 million (£1.3 million) house in the English countryside.

The Smile singer, 24, has put her three bedroom home in north London up for rent and is preparing to move to the Cotswolds, an area popular with stars like supermodel Kate Moss and Blur rocker Alex James.

The country retreat boasts five bedrooms, an outdoor heated swimming pool, horse paddocks and a stable yard.

Learn Singing Lessons at Home or Take Singing Lessons?

Learn at home singing lessons are becoming more popular rapidly with computerization throughout the world. Are there some quality lessons? Should you just hire a vocal teacher to get where you want to be as a singer? There are plenty of great singing lessons in London that you can take so long as you live in the capital.

First, some singing programs I would never recommend because they are just thrown together quickly with software that either fails eventually or the lessons are focused on fundamentals.

Some of the at home lessons are focused on more entertainment rather that bringing home the basics to singers trying to master the craft. Saying that, there are a few programs that do a pretty good job.

Some of the learn at home singing lessons programs are formulated by famous vocal coaches who have helped get stars noticed in the industry. Obviously, these coaches have found the internet as a way to expand their clientele and they can market their products on a vast scale. People like Keith Urban and some of the R&B singers I’ve read about recently use coaches who sell their lessons in a package for at home use.

Some of these home programs are composed of singing games and challenges that help you hit certain notes with a microphone or it tells you how much you missed the note. This can help perfect your ear as a singer.

In addition, some of the sight reading games can be helpful because notes will be going across the screen quickly and you have to recognize them. This is a skill you may not be interested in now, but can help you greatly as you expand your skills and you’re able to perform amongst a wider range of musicians, bands, and ensembles.

Sky Lanterns a Festival Hit

With Glastonbury 2009 approaching there is one unusual product that comes to mind, sky lanterns. They have, in recent years, become an integral part of any Glasto-goers experience. In an interview in 2008 the headliner’s, Kings of Leon, cited the release of sky lanterns from the Stone Circle as their enduring memory of the festival. If you do not directly launch one from the tranquil Stone Circle you are likely to witness their otherworldly presence as they drift up and across the rolling Somerset landscape. It is no coincidence that the use of the lanterns, with their connotations of serenity and hope, have become intrinsically connected with the Stone Circle. This area is where festival goers seek respite in the depths of the night, sitting and chatting together around fires in the positive spirit that remains at the heart of the festival. As is traditional with sky lanterns, a wish is made with each one released. It is a powerful experience to watch from the hillside of the Circle as the wishes rise across the vast festival, oblivious to the frantic crowds beneath them, up in to the sky and out of sight. Watching the sky lanterns take this journey in to the clouds is a pure moment to reflect and escape. It is one of the reasons that in spite of its ever sprawling size, Glastonbury remains unparalleled.

How Fast Should My Child in Piano Progress?

Parents wonder, “How fast should my child in piano progress?” because they want to be sure they’re doing everything they should to support their child in piano. Sometimes parents are concerned their children aren’t practicing enough at home, and assume their student must not be making much progress. It can take some time, however, for children to learn how to apply themselves to their lessons. Learning to practice is part of the learning process that will take time to achieve. If your child in piano isn’t practicing as much as you would like, try not to come to a hasty judgment about their musical potential.

As the parent you really can’t control your child’s musical progress. This is especially true when kids approach their teen years. As one family therapist explains, “Trying to control your teenager is a bad idea - you might as well be trying to put pants on a gorilla!”

My suggestion is to give your child ownership of their piano lessons early on, so they can learn from their mistakes and successes through a process of trial and error. In the long run your child will learn more by relying on their natural energy and motivation, which comes from personal ownership and responsibility. Trying to control your child’s musical progress too much can actually keep them from learning how to go about taking responsibility for their own success.

So try not to worry if your child in piano is slow to practice. Give him or her some time to develop their own motivation and you’ll be able to delight in their independent spirit. I can guarantee this is a lot more fun than putting pants on a gorilla!
