Trains are something that folk regards as straightforward and very quick to travel on, there is no waiting for checking in, having to wait to see your holdalls and going through terrible security checkpoints when you are trying to get to Hamburg. It is simply marvellous. You simply go into the station, see your train platform and then you’re off in a green mode of transport.
Trains are also somewhat carbon footprint friendly sorts of public transport. This is because public transport will probably travel massive amounts of people at any one time. By transporting so many folk compared to the massive number of cars and motorbikes it would need to transport them all, the co2 is significantly smaller overall. Trains are lovely compared to cars. Combat climate change with European Rail Travel.
It is consistently going to be needed to progress from this country to the next by whatever modes of transport are attainable and if this means choosing public transport because it has a tinier C02 output than a fuel guzzling plane, then this is a great choice to have, some may say its a magnificent choice. So it is possible to go on a vacation by train and continue to be be environmentally friendly. Just now it is conceivable to go by public transportation to most cities in the world including Rome.
So if you wish to keep your greenhouse emissions to a minimum, there is no contest, going by train is wonderful compared to by car. Travelling by public transportation is a pretty environmentally friendly type of transport, and it is dead straightforward to stay safe on public transport if passengers use common sense. The next time you yourself desire to get away somewhere, see if you yourself may use public transport or another method of public transportation to reduce and cut down on your carbon footprint. Independent studying has found that flying between Manchester, Barcelona, and Austria creates over ten times more transport gases than going by the public transport, surely this is reason enough to travel by rail, when you can.
Using the train for family trips is a magnificent way to decrease your fuel emissions, and clients may want to bring that same bright thinking towards your work journey to work. Although travelling by train has became more accepted in the last four years, there is however a considerable section of passengers that take their car to the office.

Thinking about putting up a personal profile on one of the many online dating sites? Welcome to the club! You are, or possibly soon will be, in the company of millions of people who’ve done just that. With the explosion of online personals and dating sites, men and women from all walks of life have found the ultimate vehicle to meet others with common interest. Internet dating is an amazingly fun and exciting way for singles to make connections they couldn’t have made otherwise.
However, with the fun and excitement of meeting others online comes great personal responsibility. Unfortunately, as the many news stories attest, not everyone understands that responsibility and post more than necessary information about themselves. Information such as their names, emails, addresses, phone numbers and more on their public profiles, evidently clueless that they may be putting themselves in harms way.
As always, your own personal safety should be top priority when posting information about yourself on the Internet. Never assume that others who view your profile online will have the best intentions. So always be careful of how much you reveal about yourself in a public profile.
Just in case you didn’t know, most online dating sites do not pre-screen their new member sign-ups . This means that they cannot ensure that the people on their dating sites have honorable intentions or are safe to deal with. So, this makes you responsible to carefully screen the people who contact you.
With that said, never post your real email address on your profile, nor in the first few emails you exchange with other members. In fact, any information that identifies you in your profile or in emails may open yourself up to become the latest victim on the nightly news. Don’t think it can’t happen to you, in the world we live in today, you absolutely must be careful.
But before you think it’s all bad, let me assure you that it’s not. In fact, just as in the off-line world, their are still decent people who can be trusted and whose intentions truly are honorable. You just have to exercise caution.
When you meet someone online and you feel in your gut that they are not being honest with you, there’s a good chance that you are right. Use your head, don’t rush to intimacy with someone you’ve just met online . Online intimacy with someone you honestly don’t know can be very dangerous. Don’t indulge yourself on a whim. Thinking things through can save you a lot of unnecessary troubles.
If you do meet someone who truly sparks your interest, take your time. Exchange phone numbers and get to know the person as much as possible before saying yes to meeting face to face. But, once again, as always, use caution when passing your phone number to someone. If you realize after a phone conversation or two that the person is not trustworthy, you don’t want that person to be able to look up your street address with the number you supplied him or her. If possible use an unlisted number or a payphone.
Don’t ever feel obligated to meet someone face to face. If they seem like they are trying to push you into meeting with them, back off. If they seem desperate to meet with you, then they most likely have a problem, and should be avoided. No matter what, you still have the last say on whether you are ready to meet the person or not. If something doesn’t feel right, you are free to change your mind.
If you do decide to meet with someone you’ve met online, if at all possible, take a friend. If you do go alone, tell someone reliable where you will be going and what time you’ll return. Leave information about the person with your friend. Information such as name, phone number, a copy of the photo your date sent you or that was included on their profile should be enough. Be sure and take your cell phone. Don’t let your date pick you up at your home residence. Use your own transportation and meet in a public area. Also, don’t ever leave a beverage you may be drinking unattended. With the date-rape drugs floating around out there, you just can’t take a chance.
Don’t ever rush yourself or allow anyone to push you into doing anything. Take your time and get to know anyone you’ve met online . It’s always better to be safe at home, without a date, than to wind up with a psycho in a very bad situation.
So, if you are patient about finding the right person and take these precautions, then you will have a much safer and enjoyable online dating experience. And who knows, you just might find that special someone.

Newsweek hasn’t been the most dependable magazine for Evangelical Christians through the years, but this article was written by Senator John McCain. Love him hate him or be indifferent to him (I don’t care) but he did survive the torture of the North Vietnamese and is a recognized American military hero. He did not throw his medals back. He did not lie about his service record; he really did get shot down while in combat. He wrote this piece called “Torture’s Terrible Toll” and it was published in Newsweek magazine. Please give it a read.
Representative Jack Murtha is probably right, but that is not the problem. The problem is … if we call ourselves Christian … if we hate what was done by the Nazis and Communists; if we hate the beheadings and torture by our enemies … shouldn’t we be different?
Where ever possible, we must choose the high road. We must choose righteousness. We must trust that God will help us if we believe him and live according to the ways he has taught us. Two wrongs do not add up to a right, if we are not better than the enemy how can we ask our soldiers to fight?
If our President is not following the law then he is betraying the Christians he used to get into and hold office. No, I don’t want Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the house, but I don’t want American rights to be eroded by a President who thinks he is above the law either.
Now, before anyone thinks I am simply blasting the President, understand that I am an American. I will protect American interests, our way of life, our culture and support our government with every fiber of my being. As an American I feel it is our obligation to find ALL terrorists and eliminate their ability to terrorize us or anyone else in the world, by whatever means is necessary. I am a veteran; I have and would offer my life in defense of our country.
I am the father of a daughter and the step-father of a son whom I have raised to understand the importance of hard work, commitment to excellence and free will. I am a brother to two men and three women who consider their freedom more valuable than every other gift bestowed on humans by our father above. I am the son of Christians, he is a decorated veteran of the Korean War, a (now retired) construction contractor and she a house wife, both Americans. I am a husband to a loving wife whose family came to the United States with nothing but the clothes on their backs. She studied and became an American Citizen, her family, never taking a dime from the government, raised themselves from refuge of Communism to the middle class.
We all know that sometimes it takes war! We agree that these terrorists attacked us, but if it comes to war; shouldn’t we fight it all the way, bring the entire strength of the United States to bear? Still, we must be careful, when fighting the monster, not to become the monster ourselves. We must not support torture of prisoners in any form, foreign or domestic. We should not believe in, nor support treating any American citizen by different standards based on the potential severity of their crime or their intention to commit a crime. American citizens who participate in terrorist acts within the United States should be treated as criminals. Terrorists who commit terrorist acts in other countries should be punished in accordance with that country’s laws. Any country who does not punish terrorism should be considered an enemy.
We are free! Freedom, both yours and mine, is the only thing for which I am willing to both die and (if necessary) kill.
ONLY FREEDOM and NOTHING ELSE!

Why Is Sex A Four Letter Word?
One reason why sex is still such a taboo subject that can hardly
ever be discussed with a straight face, is that there is so much
hypocrisy.
The “sex trade” is one of the biggest revenue producers, both
online and off. Yet hardly anyone will admit to being a part of
it.
Please, don’t get me wrong, there are different aspects to the
sex discussion that I am talking about. The perverts and
pornographers who involve children in what is supposed to be an
adult and consensual act, deserve the comtempt and harsh
treatment they receive. Both from society and the penal system!
But my amazement is that healthy, “normal” adults become
stammering, head bowing, face averting indivuduals when the
topic of sex comes up. These “grown ups” know that sex is part
of being an adult and a natural part at that, yet if and when
there is a problem, they are hesitant and timid about seeking
help. In my experience, even some Doctors are less than helpful
when asked sex related questions. No wonder that stastics show
that teenage and other unwanted pregnancies are not going down
as fast as they should, even given all the information that is
supposed to be readily available. Information by itself does no
good, it must be explained and make sense, before it will serve
its desired purpose.
Telling someone to use a condom, for instance, without telling
them why, how it works and how to properly use it, will not help
them make an informed and self-protecting decision.
When someone who enjoys an active sex life starts to lose
interest, shouldn’t it be treated the same as if they were no
longer interested in eating? I know that you can live without
enjoying sex, but why. Certainly not because you are too afraid
or ashamed to be seen as a “pervert”
So, please everyone, lets get real! Everyday there are less and
less things we can control and enjoy responsibly. Let sex be one
of them! Happy Year! Live! Laugh! Love! Yvonne

When Chancellor Kohl’s party and Edith Cresson are suspected of gross corruption - these are labelled “aberrations” in an otherwise honest West. When NASA in collaboration with its UK counterpart blow a 130 million US dollars spacecraft to smithereens having confused the metric system for its pound/feet archaic predecessor - people nod their head in disapproval: “accidents happen”. When President Clinton appoints his wife to suggest an overhaul of the multi-hundred billion dollars US health system - no one thinks it odd. And when the (talented) son of the police investigated, rumoured to be hyper-corrupt Minister of Interior Affairs of Israel becomes a Minister himself, no one bats an eyelash. Yet, when identical events happen in the decrepit countries of Eastern, Central, or Southern Europe - they are subjected to heaps of excoriating scorn, to vitriolic diatribes, to condescending preaching, or to sanctions. It is, indeed, a double standard, a hypocrisy and a travesty the magnitude of which is rarely to be encountered in the annals of human pretensions to morality.
The West has grossly and thoroughly violated Thompson’s edict. In its oft-interrupted intercourse with these forsaken regions of the globe, it has acted, alternately, as a Peeping Tom, a cynic and a know it all. It has invariably behaved as if it were holier-than-thou. In an unmitigated and fantastic succession of blunders, miscalculations, vain promises, unkept threats and unkempt diplomats - it has driven Europe to the verge of war and the region it “adopted” to the verge of economic and social upheaval.
Enamoured with the new ideology of free marketry cum democracy, the West first assumed the role of the omniscient. It designed ingenious models, devised foolproof laws, imposed fail-safe institutions and strongly “recommended” measures. Its representatives, the tribunes of the West, ruled the phlebeian East with determination rarely equalled by skill or knowledge. Velvet hands couched in iron gloves, ignorance disguised by economic newspeak, geostrategic interests masquerading as forms of government characterized their dealings with the natives. Preaching and beseeching from ever higher pulpits, they poured opprobrium and sweet delusions on the eagerly deluded, naive, bewildered masses. The deceit was evident to the indigenous cynics - but it was the failure that dissuaded them and all else. The West lost Eastern and Southeast Europe not when it lied egregiously, not when it pretended to know for sure when it surely did not know, not when it manipulated and coaxed and coerced - but when it failed. To the peoples of these regions, the king was fully dressed. It was not a little child but an enormous debacle that exposed his nudity. In its presumptuousness and pretentiousness, feigned surety and vain clich©s, imported models and exported cheap raw materials - the West succeeded to demolish beyond reconstruction whole economies, to ravage communities, to bring ruination upon the centuries-old social fabric, woven diligently by generations. It brought crime and drugs and mayhem but gave very little in return, only an horizon beclouded and thundering with eloquence. As a result, while tottering regional governments still pay lip service to the Euro-Atlantic structures, the masses are enraged and restless and rebellious and baleful and anti-Western to the core. They are not likely to acquiesce much longer - not with the West’s neo-colonialism but with its incompetence and inaptitude, with the non-chalant experimentation that it imposed upon them and with the abyss between its proclamations and its performance.
In all this time, the envoys of the West - its mediocre politicians, its insatiably ruthless media, its obese tourists and its armchair economists - continued to play the role of God, wreaking greater havoc than even the original. While knowing it all in advance (in breach of every tradition scientific), they also developed a kind of world weary, unshaven cynicism interlaced with fascination at the depths plumbed by the local’s immorality and amorality. The jet-set Peeping Toms resided in five star hotels (or luxurious apartments) overlooking the communist shantytowns, drove utility vehicles to the shabby offices of the native bureaucrats and dined in $100 per meal restaurants (”it’s so cheap here’). In between sushi and sake they bemoaned and grieved over corruption and nepotism and cronyism (”I simply love their ethnic food, but they are so…”). They mourned the autochtonal inability to act decisively, to cut red tape, to manufacture quality, to open to the world, to be less xenophobic (while casting a disdainful glance at the sweaty waiter). To them it looked like an ancient natural phenomenon, a force of nature, an inevitability and hence their cynicism. Mostly provincial people with horizons limited by consumption and by wealth, they adopted cynicism as shorthand for cosmopolitanism. They erroneously believed it lent them an air of ruggedness and rich experience and the virile aroma of decadent erudition. Yet all it did is make them obnoxious and more repellent to the residents than they already were.
Ever the preachers, the West - both Europeans and Americans - upheld themselves as role models of virtue to be emulated, as points of reference, almost inhuman or suprahuman in their taming of the vices, avarice up front. Yet the disorder in their own homes was broadcast live, day in and day out, into the cubicles inhabited by the very people they sought to so transform. And they conspired and collaborated in all manner of corruption and crime and scam and rigged elections in all the countries they put the gospel to. In trying to put an end to history, they seem to have provoked another round of it - more vicious, more enduring, more traumatic than before. That the West will pay the price for its mistakes I have no doubt. For isn’t it a part and parcel of their teaching that everything has a price and that there is always a time of reckoning?

Imagine discovering a way to get rid of your fears in a quick
and painless manner. In fact it can even become fun!
Did you know only two of all the fears you have are innate: The
fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. Most of your fears
were learned in early childhood and then in later life under
stressful conditions.
Traditional therapeutic approaches would probably have you
trying to figure out where your fear originally came from. Maybe
they’d have you digging around in your childhood memories,
recalling times you ate the next-door neighbours purple Tulips.
This type of approach tends to associate the client into
reliving unpleasantness and can take a long time to achieve
useful results. Personally I think this style is way out of date
and bordering on torture.
You’ll probably be glad to know we’re not going to be doing
anything like that. The truth is you can easily and quickly undo
the learnings that created specific fears and change your
responses to something much more useful.
So just how do fearful feelings occur then? Well lets use a
common example: Fred wants a raise and he’s been wanting to ask
his boss for months. Finally he decides to go and ask. BUT when
he starts the walk down the corridor he starts to feel certain
sensations in his body. Weird stomach feelings. His breathing is
constricted. Slight sweating on parts of his body. His vision is
effected. Fred decides to turn back and then sits down feeling
slightly annoyed with himself.
His body started producing ‘fear chemicals.’ What happened?
“Well it was because he defied his Dad one time when he was
four. Let’s explore those forgotten memories….”
NO! NO! NO! Let’s do something much smarter and definitely more
fun.
Hey Fred come over here I want to show you something really
cool! O’ come on, pick your lip up.
You know how before you got up to go and ask the boss for a
raise, you felt OK right? So between the time you got up and
started walking something happened. Something triggered those
feelings in you. Here’s a fact for you: You either made a
picture in your head or talked to yourself in a way that created
those fearful sensations and that happened at an unconscious
level out of your awareness.
“OK Colin that might be true but so what, what’s your point?”
Well the point is by changing the internal sounds, pictures and
voices in your head you can begin to gain control of your
emotions.
“Fair enough but how can I do that so when I’m in a similar
situation I automatically make useful pictures, sounds and
voices in my head so I remain in a resourceful state?”
Good question, here’s just one way you can achieve the results
you want using a simple and powerful tool from the field of
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
=== Soothing Movie Music ===
1.Think of a situation where you feel fear.
2.Dissociate: See yourself in the situation like you would a
movie with you in it.
3.Imagine running the memory from the END of the fearful
situation, BACKWARDS to the START. Do this very fast in less
then 1 second!
4.Think of some music that makes you feel the opposite of fear.
For example soothing classical music makes you feel relaxed.
Perhaps certain rock or dance music makes you feel
energised/courageous etc.
5.Now hear the music, nice and loud, inside your mind whilst
looking at yourself going through the situation from START to
END.
6.Break state. Now think of the situation you choose in Step 1
and notice how your fearful feelings have diminished.
7.What will you see or hear just before you want this new
feeling to set in?
